Julia Albertoni is a Brazilian writer residing in London, exploring mysticism, magical realism, self-awareness, and being a Latin American woman.

With a background in Cultural History, she integrates research into her practice, leading readers through enigmatic, mystical, and poetic landscapes.

“Writing is a radical act of connection”

In 2021, she authored her debut fiction “A Jornada da Louca”, a magical realism novel inspired by Tarot cards. It was self-published in Portuguese in 2021 in collaboration with an international team and an indie press project she has created in London, Coruja Press. More here.

In 2019, she was commissioned by Brazilian funding Elisabete Anderle to develop and write local stories for the heritage project “Onde Está Desterro?”. More here.

Her short play “The Morellos Fortune” was developed at OSO Arts Centre Writing Studio, in London, and showcased at the theatre in 2023.

She is experimenting with videopoetry and working on taking her novel to the Brazilian community in Europe and beyond. She is also working to get her novel published in the English language, expanding audiences and her practice.
